Welcome to the Colorado Space Grant
Consortium (CoSGC) Hermes CubeSat webpage. Hermes is the first
CubeSat under construction at the CoSGC headquarters at the
University of Colorado in Boulder. The CoSGC CubeSat program,
known as CO3 (Colorado Cubed), hopes to use Hermes as
the starting point for an extended program of CubeSats. Ideally,
there will always be one CubeSat under development at any time
and another on-orbit.
The Hermes CubeSat is built
in accordance with the specifications set forth by the California
Polytechnic State University (CalPoly) CubeSat Foundation and is
currently in its post-Critical Design Phase and is in the heart
of FlatSat testing and flight hardware construction.
Launch is currently planned for the
end of 2008 or early 2009 to a high-inclination low earth orbit.
The project completion deadline is May 1st, 2008, and all
hardware will be completed and fully tested by that date.
** As of March 13, 2008, the
website is still under construction after much delay. Please check back often
as it will continue to be updated to reflect the current state
of the Hermes mission. After May 1st, a big push will be made to
publish the majority of our project information on this site. It is our hope that this website
will actually provide useful and detailed information about our
project that is both easy to understand and technically specific
enough to help other CubeSat designers. Feel free to contact us
if you have any questions or would like more information. |
